IRONSTONE VINEYARDS CHARDONNAY, LODI, CALIFORNIA
The Kautz family was the first to plant Chardonnay in the Lodi region and, today, they grow Chardonnay in several of Lodi’s sub-appellations as well as the Calaveras County growing region of the Sierra Foothills. These different locations provide diverse soils and climate that, when combined, create a more complex wine than one region alone.
Alcohol Content: 13.5%
Barrel-aging: 40% barrel fermented and then aged for 4 to 6 months
Winemaker: Steve Millier
Colour: Lemony gold
Aromas: Refreshing aromas of fresh green apples, citrus and tropical fruits.
Flavours: As it dances across the palate, light citrus layered with fresh peaches fills the mouth as soft vanilla and oak highlights linger. Mild acidity gives it a crisp to tart balance with a creamy medium-length finish. Look to share it with a classic chicken
